Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the MICU at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The role provides care for critically ill patients, requires assessment, care planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and features a 72-hour every-two-weeks schedule with steady nights from 7pm to 7am.

You will work with union-backed staffing, perform patient education, and participate in the unit's rotation with weekends and holidays per policy.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR certification
• Minimum one year RN experience
• 1st preference to employee on current night schedule on unit
• 2nd preference to employee on current unit

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served.
• Directs and manages activities of the patient care delivery by the team.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team for plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
