Job summary

Atrium Health's Critical Care Unit seeks a registered nurse to deliver high-acuity care in a 10-bed CCU. You will apply the nursing process, monitor complex patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, documenting in electronic health records, and adhering to age-specific care standards. BLS and RN licensure required; BSN preferred; typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where providing client nursing services.
• BLS certification; additional certifications may be required based on specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
• Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decisions, supporting integrated patient care.
• Performs appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
• Provides age-appropriate care with knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
