Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Critical Care Unit RN for a 36-hour week in the CCU. The role supports adult/geriatric patients with complex medical needs, with opportunities in the CCU Academy for nurses new to critical care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and collaborative care delivery with multidisciplinary teams. Requires BLS and RN licensure; BSN preferred; typical 1 year nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the relevant state.
• Nursing experience: typically 1 year in clinical nursing.
• Note: telehealth/telenursing practice requires licensing in the client location.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans; collaborate with the care team.
• Uphold a culture of safety and evaluate outcomes.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrate effective communication and appropriate delegation.
