Job summary

Baptist Health in Alabama seeks a Registered Nurse specialized in ECMO to provide care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The role involves managing ECMO/ECLS, monitoring monitors, and collaborating with physicians and perfusion staff to ensure patient stability.

Candidates must have RN license, graduate of an approved nursing program, and be willing to meet unit competency requirements; ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC required for certain areas; one year of experience preferred unless AVP approves.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and unit/department.
• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities

• Provide ECMO/ ECLS bedside care in CVICU as directed by unit leadership and physicians.
• Operate ECMO equipment, monitor circuit performance, and interpret relevant monitors.
• Collaborate with physicians, perfusion services, and bedside staff to adjust treatment plans.
• Demonstrate professional practice, safety, and documentation consistent with Baptist Health standards.
