Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills in San Antonio, TX, seeks an experienced registered nurse for a fast-paced hospital setting. The role focuses on independent nursing care, using the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate patient care across acute services in a capacity that supports long-range goals and contingency planning.

The position requires a BSN preferred, current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least one year in a critical care or related specialty;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications may be required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educates patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
