Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos is seeking a nurse for the 7PM - 7AM shift on a Per Diem As Needed basis. The role supports the hospital's critical care and general nursing services, caring for patients in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety and quality care.

The position requires a BSN preferred, BLS and ACLS certifications, and an RN license in the state or via compact; one year of Critical Care experience is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Critical Care setting preferred, but will accept new graduates.
• BLS required; ACLS certification required; RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
