Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care/CCU department. This role provides care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.

A strong nursing background and collaboration with the care team are essential to deliver high-quality results. The CCU RN role requires a Massachusetts RN license, BLS, ACLS in certain units, and a BSN is encouraged within 4 years.

Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts RN license or ability to obtain one.
  • 1+ year RN experience preferred.
  • BLS certification; ACLS certification required in certain units.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN preferred; BSN within 4 years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification may be required for certain practice areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties; basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
  • Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records and enter/interpet computerized data/information.
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
  • Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
