Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. in Edinburg, TX seeks a Respiratory Therapist to perform routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures, maintain ventilator and life support equipment, and provide patient respiratory assessments.

The role requires Texas licensure as an RRT (with temporary permit if needed), completion of an accredited respiratory program, and current BLS/ACLS; PALS and NRP within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the State of Texas to perform Respiratory Care under the Respiratory Care Practitioners Act and hold a temporary permit until permanent license is obtained.
• Must complete NBRC eligibility and be currently licensed by Texas as an RRT.
• Must maintain BLS and ACLS; PALS and NRP within six months of hire.
• One year clinical experience in all modes of respiratory care preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Program and eligibility through NBRC.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains respiratory equipment and ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable.
• Provides routine respiratory patient assessment.
• Performs invasive procedures such as ABGs and assists with intubation.
• Adheres to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct as required by the employer.
