Job summary

Universal Health Services in Texas is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures, and to maintain respiratory equipment.

You will assess patients, ensure ventilator and life-support equipment are operable, and assist with invasive procedures such as ABGs and intubation as needed. A Texas license and NBRC eligibility are required, along with BCLS and ACLS; PALS/NRP within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Texas license to practice respiratory care; temporary permit until permanent license obtained.
• Commitment to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; complete required training and report issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains respiratory equipment and ensures operability of ventilator and life-support devices.
• Provides routine respiratory patient assessment.
• Performs some invasive procedures such as ABGs and assists with intubation.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Accredited Respiratory Program completion

NBRC eligibility

Current Texas license

BCLS certification

ACLS certification

PALS and NRP within 6 months
