Job summary

Newport Hospital & Health Services provides respiratory care services across acute care, emergency room, and outpatient settings. The respiratory therapist performs assessments, supportive therapy, and diagnostic tests as needed, with responsibilities spanning patient monitoring, equipment setup, and collaborative care.

Required qualifications include an Associate degree in Respiratory Care, RRT credential, WA license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• RRT credential (NBRC) to be kept up to date; WA license.
• BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care such as artificial respiration and CPR assistance.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and report adverse reactions to physicians.
• Obtain ABGs, EKGs and other testing as appropriate.
• Set up and operate devices (high flow O2, Bipap, ventilators) per treatment parameters.
• Support clinical team through training or instruction.
• Work with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to manage patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Document and store patient records.
