Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the Charlotte area team. You will manage oxygen delivery and ventilator support, perform diagnostic procedures, and communicate results to the care team. Proficiency with EMR and adherence to safety and regulatory standards are required.

This role involves a variable 12-hour night shift with a sign-on bonus eligibility. You’ll contribute to patient care across departments, supporting emergency and routine therapies while ensuring quality

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's RRT or RRT Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the appropriate state.
• BLS required per policy.
• Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards.
• For certain departments, 2 years of critical care experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers and monitors respiratory therapies and diagnostic procedures as per policy.
• Operates and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and recommends plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the health care team.
• Performs respiratory care techniques in emergencies and analyzes blood gases.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses the EMR effectively.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements, including annual proficiency.
