Job summary

Spaulding Hospital-Cambridge is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to critically ill patients. The role involves initiating and modifying therapies, bedside rounds, and collaboration with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy with a preference for a Bachelor's degree, BLS, and NBRC/RRT credentials where possible. Sign-on bonus available and night shift opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• RRT certification and NBRC credentials preferred. NBRC/NRP preferred; state license preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and/or assists with respiratory tests and procedures as ordered to deliver appropriate care.
• Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports mechanically ventilated patients.
• Prepares care plans and recommends therapy to physicians.
• Schedules treatments and provides consultation as part of the patient care team.
• Manages administration of respiratory therapy according to policies.
• Performs bedside rounds and adjusts therapy based on patient response.
• Educates students, physicians, staff, and patients/families.
