Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist at our Charlotte, NC campus for full-time night shifts. The role involves administering and adjusting respiratory therapies, operating ventilators, and providing critical care support to diverse patient populations.

You will document outcomes, collaborate with the healthcare team, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while maintaining high-quality patient care and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate’s RRT or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• License as Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state.
• BLS required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment; conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and evaluates benefits/effects.
• Performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical/non-invasive ventilators and cares for critical patients.
• Evaluates and adjusts therapy plans with clinical judgement.
• Documents therapy and communicates results to the care team.
• Initiates emergency respiratory care techniques as needed.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently in all patient areas and assists teammates.
