Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders and established standards. You will assess patient needs, operate and monitor respiratory equipment, and participate in CPR and crisis interventions as required.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care and an active CRT certification, with 0-3 years acute care experience and DC licensure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.
• 0-3 years of acute care experience; registry eligible required.
• CRT certification required; RRT preferred; DC license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and services as ordered by physician.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs and document accordingly.
• Review electronic medical records and physician orders; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Respond to CPR events and maintain airway; participate in crisis intervention when needed.
