Job summary

Atlantic Health’s respiratory care team is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide life support and cardiopulmonary care under physician supervision. You will evaluate patient conditions, administer therapies, and monitor responses to treatment in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy, NJ license, and 1+ year of experience, with critical care and PFT experience highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in respiratory therapy is required.
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• 1+ year of respiratory care experience required.
• Critical care experience highly preferred.
• Experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing preferred.
• Current NBRC RRT credential required within 1 year of employment.
• BLS certification required; ALS desired.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions and arterial blood gases to assess therapy needs.
• Administer aerosol medications and support breathing as ordered.
• Set up and operate ventilators and gas delivery systems.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy parameters as needed.
• Perform pulmonary function tests to aid diagnosis.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety and calibration.
