Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care per department policies. The role covers ventilator management, airway support, and patient rounds across age groups in a busy hospital setting.

Requirements include a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, Massachusetts licensure, NBRC registration, and BLS. Two years of relevant experience preferred; new grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a two year AMA approved program in Respiratory Care.
• Must have a Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license prior to start date.
• Must be NBRC-registered and hold a BLS certification prior to start date.
• Two years Respiratory Therapist experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provides Respiratory Care services according to department policy to ensure quality of care.
• Interprets physician orders after reviewing patient charts.
• Sets up equipment and medications for tests and therapies as directed.
• Operates mechanical ventilators and monitors patients receiving ventilation.
• Performs endotracheal suctioning and tracheal suctioning as needed.
• Performs patient rounds and adjusts therapy as needed based on condition.
