Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Antonio Central is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care with a focus on patient advocacy and safety.

You will supervise the nursing team, coordinate with multidisciplinary staff, and participate in discharge planning. ACLS certified staff provide bedside care and education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and function under stressful situations.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Approximate percent travel: 0%.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care to critically ill patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Supervises nursing care and develops care plans with patient, family and staff from other disciplines.
• Assesses on admission, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and updates the care plan as needed.
• Administers medications and ensures safety and accuracy per ICU policies.
• Documents in EMR, verifies orders, and ensures timely execution of care.
• Recognizes emergencies and initiates ACLS protocols as required.
• Participates in discharge planning and patient education.
