Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Antonio is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care to critically ill patients in a LTAC setting, following the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

You will supervise nursing care, coordinate with physicians and staff, and participate in discharge planning; ACLS/BCLS certifications are required.

This role demands strong communication, critical thinking, and the ability to work in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing care standards and follow hospital policies.
• Assess patient on admission and coordinate with rehabilitation and nutrition staff.
• Develop and update the patient care plan with patient and family input.
• Document assessments, plans, and interventions in the EMR.
• Administer medications with the seven rights and monitor effects.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency actions as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
