Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner Level 2 (RCP-2) to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care for patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Under physician guidance, you will set up and operate respiratory equipment, including life-support systems, and perform pulmonary tests to assess cardiopulmonary status. The incumbent must hold an active RRT credential, GA licensure, and BLS/ACLS certifications, with 2–3 years of respiratory care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess RRT credential and active NBRC license.
• GA Blood Gas licensure required; 30 CEUs every 2 years to maintain RCP license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs chart review and assesses patients for appropriate respiratory care treatment.
• Performs intubations and ensures airway patency and proper placement of lines.
• Initiate treatment per physician order and replace humidifiers/therapy devices as needed.
• Responds to Nursing Staff requests and supports patient treatment during high demand or low staffing.
• Per physician order, performs diagnostic testing, oxygen administration, and assists with bronchoscopies.
