Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler in Savannah, GA seeks an RCP-2 to perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care, under physician direction, operating ventilators and related equipment for patients with acute and chronic respiratory illness.

Responsibilities include chart reviews, initiating treatments per orders, airway management during emergencies, assisting with bronchoscopy, and ensuring timely response to nursing requests; an Associate degree and RRT credential are required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years Respiratory experience preferred.
• Must possess RRT credential and hold active NBRC license; GA blood gas licensure.
• Minimum BCLS; ACLS; NRP preferred; ongoing continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Performs chart review and assesses patient for appropriate respiratory care treatment.
• Performs intubations and airway maintenance; ensures proper placement of intubation or arterial lines.
• Initiates treatment per physician order; replaces humidifiers and therapy appliances as needed.
• Responds to Nursing Staff requests in a timely manner and supports patient treatments during high volume or reduced staffing.
• Per physician order, performs diagnostic testing, administers oxygen and assists physicians with bronchoscopy; demonstrates understanding of airway care and ventilator mechanics.
