Job summary

SSM Health in Bridgeton, MO, seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Response team within the acute care unit. The nurse will lead initial assessments, intervene early to prevent deterioration, and facilitate timely transfers to higher levels of care.

Two years of critical care or related RN experience are required along with BLS/ALS/PALS as applicable. Day shift, full-time employment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience in critical care, emergency care or progressive care.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or licensing equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Acts as first level of support for bedside nursing team when condition is in question.
• Educates and supports bedside team in evaluation and management of unstable patients.
• Guides bedside team to direct patient care.
• Assists in determining when to escalate a rapid response.
• Facilitates early and rapid transition of patients to higher level of care.
• Monitors patients recently transferred from ICU.
• Uses EMR data to identify at-risk patients (Deterioration Index, Sepsis, acuity scores).
• Collects data related to Rapid Response and Code episodes to drive improvement.
• Participates in Rapid Response and Code debrief processes.
