Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group is seeking a part-time Critical Care Paramedic to deliver lifesaving care in pre-hospital and hospital settings. You will perform advanced airway management, administer approved medications, and document all care per protocol, while supporting the Emergency Department when needed.

You must hold a paramedic certification (IA/IL) with an endorsed qualification and maintain BLS/ACLS/PALS. This role requires on-call coverage and on-site duties in Iowa's EMS system.

Qualifications

• Must have Paramedic certification and Iowa/Illinois eligibility.
• Knowledge of state/local EMS protocols and documentation.
• Endorsements and certifications must be current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess patients and provide lifesaving care per protocol.
• Initiate basic and advanced airway management.
• Provide direct patient care in pre-hospital and hospital settings.
• Deliver age-appropriate care across all populations.
• Operate ambulance safely and cover on-call events.
• Perform vehicle checks and restock after each run.
• Manage EMS inventory and report maintenance needs.
• Complete patient care documentation and participate in audits.
