Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a transport paramedic to deliver high-quality pre-hospital ALS care. You will participate in pre-hospital missions, documentation, and continuous training, ensuring safety and rapid response.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a busy 911 system, current paramedic licensure in IL/WI, and multiple certifications including ACLS/PALS, NIHSS, and NIMS readiness. Mercyhealth supports professional growth and cross-site coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years (≈4000 hours) in a busy 911 system with ALS experience.
• National Registry certification required; paramedic license in IL/WI within 90 days.
• ACLS/PALS within 90 days; NRP within 3 months; PHTLS/ITLS within 9 months.
• TNCC within 1 year; NIHSS within 1 year; Hazmat and NIMS training.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital advanced life support from first contact to handoff.
• Maintain patient care documentation and equipment readiness.
• Floats to Mercyhealth facilities as needed to fill staffing gaps.
• Assist with pre-mission liftoff checklists and on-briefs as requested.
• Participate in training, safety, and quality improvement activities.
