Job summary

Kaleida Health in Buffalo operates the Golisano Children's Hospital Emergency Department seeking a Registered Nurse with pediatric/critical care exposure. The role demands adherence to policies and high standards of patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Full-time position with 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shifts, onsite at US:NY:Buffalo, with union involvement and salary in the department's range. Shift 3 rotation applies.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • RN license/permit required at hire and maintained thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire and maintained.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications as specified by department.
  • PALS required within six months of hire/transfer into ED/PICU.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients in the Emergency Department setting.
  • Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed physicians in NYS.
  • Adhere to Kaleida policies and standards.

Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.

Education And Credentials

Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse/RN Permit required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter. American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of Hire and must be maintained thereafter. RN Critical Care – OCH Only – American Heart Association ACLS and American Academy of Pediatric or American Heart Association PALS. PALS required within six (6) months of hire/transfer into the Emergency Department and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). ACLS and PALS must be maintained thereafter. Existing OCH must acquire certification as part of the training and orientation to OCH.

Experience

RN Critical Care –– All Emergency Departments - require 1 year of acute care experience OR 1 year of EMS or paramedic experience.
