Job summary

Kaleida Health's Buffalo General Medical Center is seeking a Critical Care Nurse for the 8N unit. This full-time night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) offers flexible staffing arrangements and a dedicated team caring for critically ill patients.

The role requires an NYS Registered Nurse license, BLS and ACLS, and prior critical care experience. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to deliver evidence-based care and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Requires NYS RN license and current ACLS/BLS certifications.
• Ability to perform in critical care settings.
• Experience in hospital environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients and provide nursing care per physician orders.
• Monitor and interpret patient status, respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in ICU settings.

Job Description

Assesses and treats human responses to actual and potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive or restorative of life and well-being. Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations. Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice. Education And CredentialsCurrent NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse/RN Permit required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter. American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of Hire and must be maintained thereafter. RN Critical Care - American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within (1) year of hire/transfer for RNs in Critical Care Units (MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, CCU, CVICU, ILCU, PICU, etc.), Long Term Monitoring (OCH). ACLS must be maintained thereafter. **Thirteen (13) hour shift employees, who bid on a position in another thirteen (13) hour shift department, and who is accepted for that position, will have the right to continue to be scheduled thirteen (13) hours even if the job is posted as a twelve and one-half (12 ) hour shift.** ExperienceRN Critical Care- Adult
