Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens support in Scranton. Night shifts with immediate start and ongoing coverage, no on-call requirement. Inpatient and outpatient care with a focus on critical care and triage.

Credentials include BLS, DEA, PA licensure in PA or IMLC, NCCPA for PAs, and Board certification or eligibility. Epic is the EMR; travel and lodging arrangements are handled by AMN.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Active PA license in PA or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact is required.
• NCCPA certification is required for Physician Assistants.
• DEA license is required for practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and triage in critical care settings.
• Rounding, review of labs and imaging, and coordinate follow-up care.
• Communicate with patients and families; manage medications and tests pre-authorizations.

This facility is seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant(NP) for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

• Schedule: Immediate- ongoing coverage; Night shifts; No call
• Practice Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Type of cases and required procedures: Critical Care/Intensive Care; initial patient assessments and triage, patient screening, rounding, review of laboratory and procedure results, coordination of follow-up care, patient and family communication, medication/diagnostic/treatment pre-authorizations.
• Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration License (DEA); National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required for Physician Assistants
• Licensure required: Active Pennsylvania medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC); Board Certified or Board Eligible required
