Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Critical Care Float Pool at the New Brunswick campus is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide cross-unit coverage, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. The role supports night shift, 36 hours per week (7p–7:30a) with Monday–Friday plus some weekends and holidays.

Requires NJ RN license, ASN or Nursing Diploma, BLS/ACLS; BSN preferred and CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma is required.
  • At least 1 year of Critical Care RN experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire (preferred).
  • CCRN (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across units within the float pool following Nurse Practice Act and standards.
  • Ensure patient safety and apply evidence-based practice.
  • Report safety issues and medical errors as required.
  • Supervise and direct delegation of tasks within the team.
  • Collaborate with other care providers and adjust priorities as needed.
