Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a Staff Nurse for the Floating Pool to provide high‑quality care across units. The RN will maintain standards per ANA and hospital policy, with a 2‑year commitment to the float pool and leadership in patient care delivery.

The role requires an RN with a NY license, 2 years ICU experience, and BLS; a BSN is preferred. Day shifts, 11.5 hours, with alternating weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Valid New York State RN license and registration.
• Two years ICU RN experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required.
• Infection Control training is required.
• Certification in specialty is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills, written and oral.
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership in coordinating patient care and interdisciplinary plans.
• Ensures documented plans of care for all assigned patients are completed.
• Assesses patients and documents responses to care and treatments.
• Delivers teaching and discharge planning within 24 hours of admission where applicable.
• Maintains competencies and participates in unit-based performance improvement.
