Job summary

Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado, seeks an experienced RN to join our Critical Care Float Pool. You will float across critical care and acute settings, providing evidence-based care to critically ill patients while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment.

The role requires a BSN, active RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year in critical care. Weekend/evening shifts and a 10% float differential are noted.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in a critical care or acute care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is Required. Degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients across multiple units.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition with advanced clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and care teams.
• Manage complex patient needs, including advanced monitoring and critical care interventions.
• Document patient care accurately and ensure continuity of care across settings.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge needs.
• Adapt quickly to varying unit workflows, patient populations, and acuity levels.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
