Job summary

UPMC Jameson is seeking a Clinician or Clinician Fellow to join the Critical Care Team. The Clinician will lead nurses under the direction of the Unit Director, deliver staff evaluations, participate in hiring, and manage daily performance for a group of direct reports.

The role emphasizes education, clinical expertise for staff orientation and training, and coordination of clinical activities, with potential shift accountability for delivering nursing care when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• BS/BSN required. If BS degree not in nursing, a Master’s or higher degree in Nursing is required.
• Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships and mentors staff.
• Implements performance improvements and shares learnings across units or system.
• Acts as preceptor and assists with development of new preceptors and staff evaluations.
• Leads initiatives aligning with organizational goals to improve patient safety, quality, and patient experience.
• Utilizes nursing process to meet clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Provides leadership in clinical nursing practice and participates in shared leadership at unit, facility, or system level.
