Job summary

MidState Medical Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking an Assistant Nursing Manager (RN) to supervise patient care, clinical staff, and unit operations. The role includes off-shift and weekend supervision, managing resources and schedules, and ensuring high-quality, family-centered care aligned with the hospital's strategic plan.

The candidate will work with leadership to promote standards of excellence and may lead Performance Improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• BSN in nursing.
• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care, clinical personnel and unit operations.
• Oversee daily operations of the assigned department including off shift and weekend supervision.
• Manage resources, payroll, schedules and monitor patient throughput to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic unit environment and assist as staff RN when needed.
• Participate in and may lead Performance Improvement activities within the department.
