Job summary

MidState Medical Center in Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Nursing Manager (RN) to supervise patient care, clinical staff and unit operations in a busy unit, with a 08:00-16:30 shift, five days a week, flexible and negotiable. BSN is required; current incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years.

BSN in nursing. Existing incumbents as of March 1, 2024 must obtain BSN within 3 years of this date
2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Nursing Manager is an RN who has responsibility for the supervision of patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations.
This position supervises a work group to ensure high quality, cost-effective patient and family centered care.
This position manages resources, quality improvement, payroll, creating and maintaining colleague schedules and monitors patient throughput to facilitate efficient clinical operations.
In addition, this position is responsible for a safe and therapeutic unit environment, which includes working in the department as staff RN to assist as needed.
Participates in and may lead Performance Improvement work in their assigned department.
