Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to manage care for critically ill adults in the ICU. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities include evaluating illnesses, ordering tests, prescribing treatments, and performing invasive procedures per protocol. Shift pattern is 12 hours, 7p–7a, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Licensed to provide advanced practice nursing or physician assistant services in Illinois.
• DEA registration to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
• BLS/ACLS certification is required.
• Certification as ACNP is required.
• 2+ years of critical care patient management experience.
• Eligible to participate in OSF programs for liability coverage.

Responsibilities

• Manage care of critically ill adult patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries; order/interpret diagnostics.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments and perform invasive procedures.
• Assess and manage new admissions to the ICU; provide education and patient advocacy.
