Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking an experienced anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive anesthesia care in the Department of Anesthesiology. The role includes preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative management, postoperative rounds and ICU coverage.

The position involves supervising CRNAs, contributing to teaching and potential research activities, and participating in departmental committees to advance patient care and education.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology; Critical Care Certification eligible/boarded.
• Eligible for unrestricted Virginia medical licensure.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Excellent communication, clinical and teaching skills.
• Commitment to respect, professionalism and civility in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical anesthesiology care in main operating rooms and ambulatory areas as directed by the Chair or delegate.
• Perform preanesthetic evaluation and postoperative rounds; manage resuscitation and ICU coverage as needed.
• Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs as assigned by the Chair or delegate.
• Contribute to education and scholarly activities, including bedside teaching and participation in conferences and committees.

Education

MD or DO degree

ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology

Certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification

Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia

Eligible for employment in the United States
