Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA is seeking a Critical Care Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive perioperative and ICU care. Responsibilities include preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative management, postoperative rounds and critical care, and guidance of CRNAs.

You will participate in teaching residents and fellows and may engage in clinical research. Board certification or eligibility and Virginia licensure are required; salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ABA board eligibility/certification in Anesthesiology and/or Critical Care Certification.
• Unrestricted Virginia medical licensure with eligibility for employment in the United States.
• Strong communication, clinical and teaching skills.
• Commitment to respect, professionalism and civility in a diverse environment.
• Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide preanesthetic evaluation and intraoperative anesthetic care.
• Postoperative rounds, resuscitation and intensive care responsibilities.
• Perform therapeutic/diagnostic nerve blocks and consultation for chronic pain.
• Direct CRNAs as assigned and participate in teaching and conferences.
