Zusammenfassung

MedVet is seeking a Credentialed Technician for Critical Care and Blood Bank to join our Emergency team. This role is ideal for a driven technician who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and can multitask across rounds, patient assessment, and collaborative treatment planning.

You will support DVMs with anesthesia, nursing care, client education, and in-house and external lab work while ensuring top-tier patient care and clear communication with clients and staff.

Qualifikationen

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in drug calculations, CRI, unit conversions.

Aufgaben

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.

Credentialed Technician for Critical Care and Blood Bank

Our Emergency team is the perfect place for technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Every day is different and there’s never the same case twice!

What you’ll do

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
