Job summary

Thresholds is seeking a Crisis Support Specialist for The Living Room McHenry, a community crisis center. You will use personal recovery experience to support guests, engage in conversation, and guide them toward recovery steps while modeling coping strategies.

You will also assist with meal prep, keep the space clean, and help guests access supportive services. Training opportunities and CRSS certification support are available.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health recovery preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities are essential.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Engage guests in conversation to hear their stories and support recovery.
• Educate guests on coping strategies and help develop crisis recovery plans.
• Connect guests with supportive services and resources after crisis.
• Prepare food for guests and maintain a clean, welcoming space.
