Kenneth Young Center in Mount Prospect, IL, seeks a Recovery Support Specialist for the Living Room Program (PRN). The role supports guests with crisis intervention, stabilization, and recovery planning across on-site and mobile services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology or related discipline.
• CRSS or CPRS certification preferred.
• 1–2 years experience with individuals recovering from mental illness in community settings preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Internet required.
• Valid IL driver’s license and auto insurance preferred; some programs require no vehicle access.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift coverage based on program needs.
• Engage and orient clients to services across Living Room, Mobile Crisis Response and Drop‑in Center.
• Engage with local First Responders to coordinate warm hand-offs.
• Assist supervisor to plan and implement activities.
• Maintain facility setup and safety.
• Assist with transportation and travel arrangements.
• For CRSS/CPRS, provide peer counseling leveraging lived experience.
