Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) seeks a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC) in Newark. The role provides essential, goal-directed nursing care for individuals in mental health or substance use crises, following departmental policies to stabilize and support patients.

Responsibilities include assessments, crisis care plans, med administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to provide person-centered nursing care.
• Ability to relate to clients.
• Ability to use the nursing process.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Direct non- professional staff and request help as needed.
• Demonstrate strong clinical nursing specialty.
• Excellent communication skills.
• PC literate with proficiency in word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assesses individuals served needs to provide quality care.
• Documents initial nursing assessment and plan of care.
• Identifies and documents learning needs upon admission.
• Develops and communicates an individualized care plan with patient and family.
• Implements the plan of care and nursing interventions as needed.
• Maintains concurrent documentation for multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains professional, respectful environment for patients and staff.
