UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a Crisis Safety Specialist to join Resolve Crisis Services. The role supports a 24/7 crisis program, including hotline, mobile crisis, walk-in center and youth services.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience in safety, crisis intervention, mental health, de-escalation or related field preferred.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to psychiatric and medical emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, patients, and visitors.
• Conduct safety searches on all entering the building.
• Assist in managing the front desk and support the milieu.
• Aid in developing and implementing safety management for walk-in and residential environments.
• Participate in staff meetings and committees.
• Report safety concerns immediately.
• Provide customer service.
• Handle disruptive individuals using de-escalation techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of mental health laws.
• Answer phones and direct calls.
• Complete reports and incident documentation.
• Orient new crisis staff.
• Enforce UPMC policies and maintain a secure environment.
• Manage evidence, valuables, and lost/found items.
• Respond to crisis situations as a team member.
