Job summary

Sweetser in Lewiston, Maine, seeks a full-time Crisis Stabilization Counselor to provide crisis stabilization services to adults in psychiatric crisis on the Crisis Stabilization Unit. You will write concise progress notes and engage clients with compassion and boundaries.

Schedule: Sundays and Mondays, 7pm–7am, with a $2.50 shift differential after 10pm. After six months and required training, you can advance to Crisis Residential Counselor II with a $1 raise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• One year of direct care/crisis intervention with adults.
• MHRT I certification or eligibility within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive, respectful, non-judgmental care to adults in psychiatric crisis.
• Engage with clients while maintaining boundaries and goals from treatment plans.
• Write concise progress notes aligned to client goals and objectives.
• Promote safety, teamwork, and effective communication in a hospital-like unit.
• Assist clients toward increased independence and discharge readiness.
