Job summary

Center For Family Services in Denville, NJ, is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC). This 24-hour crisis center provides therapeutic interventions for adults in crisis in a nurturing environment.

The role requires an APRN with PMHNP credentials, NJ RN/APN licensure, and CS/DEA certifications. Part-time night shift (Wednesdays, 12 hours) and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited University.
• ANCC certification in psychiatry.
• Current New Jersey License for RN and APN in good standing.
• Valid C.D.S. registration and D.E.A Certification.
• 2 years post bachelors experience in a behavioral health setting providing mental health evaluations, medication management and education, and behavioral health counseling.

Responsibilities

• Serve consumers with mental health and substance use diagnoses, including co-occurring and MI/DD diagnoses.
• Evaluate, diagnose and provide treatment to Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center consumers.
• Develop holistic behavioral health assessments involving family members as indicated.
• Develop individual and family focused treatment plans with crisis care components.
• Prescribe medication in accordance with license and formulary, including controlled substances and MAT.
• Provide medication evaluation and management services including counseling and psychoeducation.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic medical tests.
• Complete psychiatric evaluations and treatment progress notes per policies.
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system.
• Adhere to policies regarding sample medication inventory.
• Maintain collaboration with Center psychiatrist and other providers.

Education

Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

ANCC certification in psychiatry

Current New Jersey License for RN and APN in good standing

Valid C.D.S. registration and D.E.A Certification

2 years post bachelor's experience in behavioral health
