Job summary

True North Recovery is seeking a Crisis Peer Support Specialist to provide immediate access to services for clients in crisis and to link them with community resources. You will use motivational interviewing to build rapport and help navigate housing, assessments, and recovery programs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in human services or related field; equivalent education/experience may be accepted.
• One year of continuous sobriety if in recovery and active participation in a recovery program.
• Must obtain CDC II within 3 years of hire.
• Valid Alaska driver's license and insurance; 21+ years old.
• Background check required by state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate access to services and linkage to resources for clients in crisis.
• Offer crisis stabilization, assess needs, and connect to housing, assessments, and recovery supports.
• Build rapport using motivational interviewing and client-centered approaches.
• Serve as a liaison to providers and treatment teams, advocating for clients.
• Deliver writing and documentation in client EHR using DAP or DJF note formats.
• Coordinate with Emergency Services and community outreach activities.
• Demonstrate personal recovery and coping skills to clients.
• Ensure client confidentiality and professional, respectful interactions.
