Job summary

UCS in Vermont seeks an Emergency Clinician to provide a broad range of clinical services for mental health and substance use clients. The role includes crisis triage, short-term counseling, case management, and coordination with partner agencies to ensure comprehensive care.

Under the Psychiatric Medical Team, you will operate within our 15 facilities, maintaining detailed records and participating in team meetings, with duties extending to education and community outreach as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or human services.
• QMHP certification or working towards QMHP.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Triage crisis calls and determine appropriate response (mobile, phone, law enforcement, and emergency department).
• Provide assessment and brief, solution-focused counseling for mental health and/or substance use crises.
• Coordinate services with other agencies and providers; refer as needed.
• Provide education and consultation to schools, agencies, and the community.
• Maintain timely and thorough clinical records and documentation.
• Attend administrative, agency, and clinical team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
