Job summary

United Counseling Service (UCS) in Vermont is seeking an Emergency Clinician to deliver a broad range of mental health and substance use services. Under supervision, you will triage crises, conduct assessments, provide brief counseling, and coordinate referrals with community partners and schools.

The role supports the Emergency Clinician team in crisis response, clinical documentation, and participation in meetings to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (psychology, social work, counseling, or human services).
• QMHP certification or progress toward QMHP is required or preferred.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Triages crisis calls and determines appropriate response (mobile, phone, law enforcement, ED).
• Provides assessment and brief, solution-focused counseling for mental health/substance use crises.
• Coordinates services and makes appropriate referrals to other providers.
• Provides mental health/substance use consultation to schools, agencies, and the community.
• Maintains concurrent case management and social support services as needed.
• Maintains accurate clinical records and participates in meetings.
