Job summary

WellSpace Health in Sacramento, CA seeks a Crisis Line Clinician (onsite) to answer suicide prevention and crisis calls, perform risk assessments, provide crisis intervention and safety planning, and link callers to resources.

The role requires board licensure in good standing (ACSW/AMFT/APCC preferred), experience with brief interventions, and strong written and verbal communication. This full-time position offers a competitive salary within the stated range.

Qualifications

• Registered in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ACSW, AMFT, or APCC.
• CA Law and Ethics Exam completion preferred for licensure.
• One year of experience in clinical assessments, treatment planning, and counseling issues including suicide risk.
• Experience with brief interventions (MI, DBT, TI-CBT) preferred.
• Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written, with strong listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and consultation to coordinators, leads, and staff providing crisis counseling services.
• Respond to 24-hour mental health & suicide prevention crisis lines with risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Screen and link callers with higher levels of service as clinically indicated.
• Consult with Program Manager and Director to support trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity.
• Maintain confidential records and document all caller interactions.
• Initiate and continue follow-up calls, chats, and texts as clinically indicated.
• Adhere to national standards and mandated reporting requirements.
• Assist with data collection for QA/QI efforts.
• Make warm referrals to Mobile Crisis Teams and other services as directed.
