Sweetser in York County, ME, is seeking a Crisis Intervention Specialist, full-time, located in Saco. The role provides assessment, support and stabilization services across community and crisis units, with a variable schedule.

Starting pay is $22.00–$24.35 per hour, plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Ideal candidates have crisis intervention experience and appropriate MH/SA credentials. Full benefits and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or MHRT/CSP required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis intervention requests from person served, family members, community-based service providers and state agencies to resolve acute psychiatric crises.
• Determine the need for a face-to-face assessment and arrange a convenient meeting site for safety.
• Communicate with persons in crisis to assess mental status, functioning, and goals for crisis resolution.
• Develop a crisis stabilization plan with the person served and family/guardian involved.
• May request protective custody interventions by law enforcement to resolve life-threatening situations.
• May facilitate voluntary or involuntary hospitalization per state regulations.
• May facilitate alternatives to hospitalization, including voluntary admission to crisis stabilization units.
• Develop and participate in post-crisis follow-up treatment plans and brief case management.
