Job summary

The CARE CENTER, INC. in Washington, PA is seeking a crisis intervention clinician to support behavioral health clients and families. You will assess crises, provide counseling, and connect individuals with ongoing treatment and resources.

You will maintain detailed crisis records and develop service plans to ensure safety and progress, with duties that may include on-call coverage and collaboration with partner agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's Degree in social work or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Criminal history clearance, CHC; Child Abuse clearance; FBI fingerprint clearances required.
  • Ability to obtain vital information during interviews to make proper recommendations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and agencies.
  • Ability to transport oneself in an insured vehicle as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention services to behavioral health consumers and families.
  • Assess situations and implement crisis intervention techniques.
  • Connect individuals with resources for ongoing treatment and support.
  • Maintain accurate crisis intervention records.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments to develop a Service Plan.
  • Advise supervisory/clinical staff of significant changes in consumer behavior.
  • Provide supportive counseling and referrals to social/medical services.
  • Prepare correspondence, records, and documentation timely.
  • Promote community awareness and education about mental health and crisis prevention.
  • Provide direct services including interviewing individuals and group activities; on-call may be required.
  • Advocate for access to services and support reintegration into the community.
  • Establish partnerships with other agencies and law enforcement.
