Health Care and Rehabilitation Services is seeking a Crisis Intervention Specialist for Crisis Services in Windsor County, based in Springfield, VT. The role provides risk assessment, brief supportive counseling, and referrals to resources during mental health crises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context.
• The ability to complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment on individuals in distress and make appropriate referrals for services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external providers.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessment and suicide assessment for individuals in distress.
• Provide brief supportive counseling during mental health crises.
• Refer clients to resources and other identified supports as needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external providers to coordinate care.
