Job summary

HCRS (Health Care & Rehabilitation Services of Southeastern Vermont) is seeking a Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide risk assessment, brief supportive counseling, and referrals during mental health crises. The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or 4 years of related experience); master’s degree preferred, and a focus on compassionate, calm support for individuals and families in crisis.

Located near Lebanon and Hanover, NH, the position offers competitive pay ($59,752.50–$64,704

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with people of all ages in mental health or substance use contexts.
• Ability to complete mental status exams and suicide risk assessments.

Job description

The pay for this position is $59,752.50-$64,704 annually.
$5,000 sign-on bonus
Starting with 4 weeks of paid time off (pro-rated) plus 12 sick days and 9 holidays per year!

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will be providing risk assessment, brief supportive counseling, referral to resources and other identified supports to individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis.

• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context.
• The ability to complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment on individuals in distress and make appropriate referrals for services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external providers.
